A Renewable Battery Storage Remediation Specialist (or Field Service Technician/Engineer) is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and safely replacing faulty battery cells, modules, and inverters within utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The role ensures maximum system up-time and safe grid integration.
Key Responsibilities
· System Remediation: Remove, replace, and balance faulty battery modules or inverters or other parts.
· Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to hazardous material handling, Lock-out/Tag-out (LOTO) procedures, and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) before starting work.
· Preventative Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections, preventative maintenance checks.
· Reporting: Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to track inventory, document test results, and report maintenance activities.
Your Day
Monday - Friday and some weekends 8 - 12 hour days

Qualifications Requirements
· Education: High school diploma, combined with a technical degree, apprenticeship, or certification in electrical systems, renewable energy, or a related field.
· Experience: Typically 2+ years of hands-on field experience with low/medium voltage AC/DC power systems and advanced energy storage systems (e.g., lithium-ion).
· Certifications: Often requires OSHA 30-Hour Construction and specific BESS safety certifications.
· Physical Travel: Ability to work in safety-focused field environments, lift heavy equipment.
· Interpret and translate schematics, blueprints and technical drawings to assemble, install or troubleshoot complex systems.
· Precision Mechanical Fastening: Ability to use a torque wrench; properly handle the tool to prevent hardware damage.
